Bottle courtesy of Sutttree! Pours dark brown almost black, hazy, with a small tan colored head. Aroma is toastes oatmeal, bakers chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, floral hops,coffee, and toasted oatmeal. Palate is slightly thick, medium carbonation, finishes on the bitter side, however there is some lingering sweetness. Solid.

Bottle courtesy of OldGrowth. Brackish mahogany pour. Light scatters into ruby hues as it attempt to penetrate. Aroma smacks of burnt oatmeal, bakers chocolate, roasted malts, and soft coffee notes. Taste is roasted malts, hops, cold coffee, and burnt oatmeal. Rather typical for the style but tasty nonetheless! Body is chewy but medium with above average carbonation. Ends with more roasted malt, coffee notes dark chocolate and light hops.

12 ounce bottle from pintocb. Pours dark brown, and appears garnet when held to light. Light brown head on top. The roasted character is right upfront with a decent punch of hop aroma. The flavor is roasted coffee with cream. Pretty dry finish.

On tap 4/27 @ the Brick Store Pub: Pours black with a light tan head. Malty aroma has hints of chocolate. Has a roasted chocolate flavor leaving a creamy mouthfeel. I felt it was well balanced but it didn’t have the Wow factor I was looking for.

Bonus from Degarth. Pours a nice deep red-brown-black with hints of mahogany on the edges when held up to the light. A goodly thick khaki-colored head of tightly-packed small bubbles forms on pour and gradually settles to a small floating band of bubbles on top. Nice bits of lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma is nothing special; mostly earthy & slightly piney hops and roas grain with maybe a hint of licorice. Flavor was also pretty middling; roasted grain, slightly piney hops, and a very small touch of cardboard. Palate was medium-full-bodied with a short dry aftertaste. There just wasn’t much to this beer as porters go. However, upon opening I noticed the inside of the bottle cap was corroded, indicating there may have been some oxygen in the bottle that contributed to oxidation. Even under those circumstances it wasn’t too bad; it just wasn’t very special either. I have a soft spot for this brewery and I would be interested to try a fresher bottle to re-evaluate.

Poured a dark black color good head and nice lacing. Aroma was of chocolate and coffee and malts. Flavor was much the same coffee was stronger then i would have thought, little thin for the style, but overall not bad. Really not sure if this is a porter.

This is a solid Porter. I had already drank my share of better ones earlier in the evening, and Dennis put this in front of me @ Hair Of The Dog Pub...I drank it down. Did I mention I run my town, and the owners of that pub owe me favors?? AAAAHHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAA!!!!

Light roasted scent with a hint of chocolate. Black body with a thin head. Thin to medium palate. Roasted malts and the faintest of hops in the end. Bland.
