Bottle; Nose of coffee and roastiness; Clear dark brown, with a small tan head; Flavor of light raosted coffee, light hops, and grainy oatmeal from the medium body, hop bitterness in the finish lasts a long time.

Thin tan head on a brownish black pour. Coffee, malty and toasty aroma. Smooth mouth feel. A nice easy drinking, quaffable porter.

Bottle, at Kookfest, September 2006. Very dark brown with a reddish tinge. Good deep roast malt aroma, with subtle chocolate notes. The roast malt continues on the palate but there’s a rather dry and dusty mouthfeel that is almost ashy. There is a quite assertive hop character that lends a distinct bitterness. But its also has some residual sweetness that doesn’t sit too well with the fairly light body. Its a decent enough beer but finds itself slightly caught between two stools in my view.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Leaves ridges of lace. Faint oatmeal, brown sugar and smoky raisins. Tastes of dusty red grapes and mocha. Medium body with a carb tingle. Mild citrus hops leads to drying and residual black coffee. Flavor a little thin.

From the bottle, pours a black with a decent head. Smells like a porter, tastes like a porter. I enjoy porters, and this one is no exception. I’d love to say more about it, but for some reason it’s hard for me to differentiate between porters. Just know this is a pretty good one.

Pours out very dark, almost black, formed a huge foam head. Made it look yummy. Aroma of the usual, malt, hops, coffee and a little chocolate. Taste and flavor of coffee, malts, some hops, a little choco with a tad bit of caramel. Pretty good stuff, easy to drink and is enjoyable.

Draught at Mellow Mushroom. Black pour with awesome creamy head. Roasted malt aroma, some oatmeal sent, some caramel. Roasted malt flavor, light oatmeal. Very very smooth, great session porter.

Pour was a deep onyx black, with a tannish head. Aroma was weak with very subtle hints of roated malts, coffee and chocolate. Flavors were much the same as the aroma of the beer but VERY mild. Nothing pronounced in the nose or in the flavor. So to say it was rather boring would be pretty accurate I think.
