Head is thin, mouthfeel is thin and watery. Taste is fairly nice with a nice malty/chocolate bite. I would like this a lot more if it had a little more bite. I like my porters a little thicker. Still, pretty good. recordjunkie5 (20), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2006 This was very good. Dark and smooth, with a bit of a chocolately flavor. My biggest regret is falling asleep before this beer was finished. notalush (2676), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottle from ross - the color and carbonation of this beer make it look almost exactly like a glass of coke (not very appealing) - aroma of minerals, lactose, weak coffee and a faint whiff of oatmeal - moderately hoppy and roasty - medium-dry, with a slight milky quality - light sweet cream, coffee and a hint of cocoa - slight caramel and chocolate malts linger for a while in the finish - not bad, but I would pass up a second helping. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Very deep ruby red color with almost non-existant light tan color. Aroma is malty, slightly nutty, bit of vanilla and cream. Flavor is full of bitter malts, some kilned malts, bit of ash, with a mildly bitter finish. Bajahobo (30), USA

Very distinct oatmeal flavor, bitter with only a hint of roasted nuts.
Very tasty, good with chocolate for desert! OldGrowth (1426), North Carolina, USA

Ok nose, wet autumn leaves, grapevine, powdered soap. Brownish black coor, ok head that quickly disappeared. No lace. Bitter flavor. Viney bitter mainly. Little of the oat shows up. Medium body, thin creamy mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Eh, nothing wrong, but wasn’t diggin it overall.
