Commercial Description:
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

12 Oz bottle. Thanks to my man Jimbowood. Dark color, but a fairly watery pour. Head is thin, mouthfeel is thin and watery. Taste is fairly nice with a nice malty/chocolate bite. I would like this a lot more if it had a little more bite. I like my porters a little thicker. Still, pretty good.

Dark brown pour. Small tan head. Flavor is very malty in nature. Finishes nicely. A great everyday porter!

This was very good. Dark and smooth, with a bit of a chocolately flavor. My biggest regret is falling asleep before this beer was finished.

Bottle from ross - the color and carbonation of this beer make it look almost exactly like a glass of coke (not very appealing) - aroma of minerals, lactose, weak coffee and a faint whiff of oatmeal - moderately hoppy and roasty - medium-dry, with a slight milky quality - light sweet cream, coffee and a hint of cocoa - slight caramel and chocolate malts linger for a while in the finish - not bad, but I would pass up a second helping.

Bottle (Chris_o Gathering06): Dark brown with a beige head. Sweet, suprisingly hoppy. Interesting and morish.

Very deep ruby red color with almost non-existant light tan color. Aroma is malty, slightly nutty, bit of vanilla and cream. Flavor is full of bitter malts, some kilned malts, bit of ash, with a mildly bitter finish.

Bottle. My favorite local porter. Dark with a solid head that disappeared fairly quickly. Typical porter aroma, with a detectable sweetness (alcohol is present in smell) Very distinct oatmeal flavor, bitter with only a hint of roasted nuts. Very tasty, good with chocolate for desert!

Bottle, from trade with ross, I think, maybe goldtwins. Ok nose, wet autumn leaves, grapevine, powdered soap. Brownish black coor, ok head that quickly disappeared. No lace. Bitter flavor. Viney bitter mainly. Little of the oat shows up. Medium body, thin creamy mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Eh, nothing wrong, but wasn’t diggin it overall.
