Aroma is roasted malts and roasted malts.. nothing jumps out at you... Now, for the taste.. as everyone before me has said.. VERY VERY watery for a porter ... this needs some work.. the flavor is decent.. rather simalar to a barley wine.. i dunno im not a fan but its decent.. 10/20 biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

You can taste and smell the roasted malts and some chocolate and even a bit of the hops, but nothing really distinguishes themselves. It is a good start, but needs a little more work. Not a bad drink, but somewhat underdeveloped. daveco67 (18), Marion, Iowa, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 27, 2006 This is another good porter. A very dark black pour with just to right amount of chocolate flavor and malt. With Yazoo no longer making their porter at this time, Highland will be taking its place in the meantime. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma of mild chocolate, some oats. Flavor, oats, roast malts and chocolate. On the dry side, there is a bit of roasty bitterness on the finish. Good stuff. muenster (340), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA

Delicious aroma of roasty chocolate. The flavor is full and chocolaty, with a bit of muted bitterness. Very smooth and highly recommended. RCL (1485), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 28, 2006 This beer is loaded with malt. Nice but not great. The oatmeal is there but does not add a whole lot to the beer. Still pretty good. JJClark (546), Roscoe, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2006 Bottle from trade with decaturstevo. Pours a medium brown color with a small off white head that left a small amount of lacing. Nice aroma of roasted malts. This is a smooth, slightly thin porter that goes down really easy. Finishes with a hint of dark chocolate. Thanks Steve!
