Commercial Description:
A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Bottle acquired in trade with goldtwins. Pours a very dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of mainly roasted malts. Tastes of roasted malts, dark fruits, and light chocolate. Lightly sweet tasting. Palate was a little on the thin side.

pours a dark brown, but not totally solid, with hints of amber, a thin layer of tan cream head stayed on the beer the whole time. has a very malty aroma, nothing else really going on there. a little sweetness, alot of maltiness in the flavor, just a tad taste of chocolates towards the end. a little bitter on the tail, and it stays in your mouth after each swallow. a medium body, with a nice mouthfeel. this was my first brew from this brewer, and i am looking forward to the rest of their fare i have in my cellar. thanks to goldtwins for this.

Roasted malt aroma. Low carbonation with medium head that settles out to a thin layer. Color is black. Mouthfeel is pleasant with a rich maltiness and light bitterness on back of tongue that fades almost too quickly. Overall, a very good oatmeal porter that I will definitely buy again. Can’t wait to try Highland’s other ales.

Nearly opaque rich dark brown color with a thin, lightly-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel corn and chocolate milk with a touch of roastiness. Starts malty and sweet with a smooth chocolatey mouthfeel leading to a semi-sweet, sticky roasty finish. A very nice porter, thanks goldtwins!

Suttree, thanks again man. This bottle poured a deep dark brown, whit a huge tan head. Head was frothy and cream. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee and bread. taste was roasted malts and cofee and a bit of lingering burnt somkeyness. I enjoyed this, the smooth finish was excellent.

Dark dark reddish brown, nearly black, Small frothy head. Mild hoppy finish. I’m definitely tasting some coffee on the end, but it’s definitely malty sweet and a little bit fruity to start with. I’m afraid my beer’s a bit cold to get much in the way of aroma. I’ll have to re-taste at a later date. Heh heh heh.

Dark color with nice frothy head but somewhat thin. Aroma is malty and coffee. Flavor is rather sweet, chocolaty and carmel malts, with a roasted coffee tone. Rather thin and a bit sour.

This is by far one of the best porters I have ever had. Nice roasted coffee flavor and aroma. It is the smoothest and best mouthfeel I have ever had. When you want a world class porter, look no further.
