Jan 9, 2009 Bottle shared by PilsnerPeter. Smoky, peaty aroma, kind of sour, with some mushroom. Earthy. Weird flavor, oat and tart, bark, pils/saaz hops. Doesn’t sit well with me. Kind of far from a porter, more like a scottish ale or something.

Jan 9, 2009 12 oz bottle pours deep brown, almost black with a creamy light brown head. Acidic, oatmeal, and roast aroma. Quick and small bitterness that fades into a rich body. Slightly thin body but packed full of coffee and bread. Slight oatmeal flavor. Bit dry at the swallow.

Jan 5, 2009 Poured to a dark chocolate brown with a hint of ruby at the bottom of the glass, a thin tan head that disippated quickly and little lacing. Nose is malty choclate with a hint of oatmeal. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, leaning only slightly to the watery side. Taste is a satisfactory follow-up of the nose, and the finish, though nothing spectacular, is tasty and of medium duration.

Dec 30, 2008 Poured a deep brown with red tint. medium tan head. Chocolate malt on the nose. Initially a very smooth beer with a bit of a malted aftertaste. In one word: Creamy. I think this will be my go to Porter!

Dec 19, 2008 Bottle: Poured a clear black color porter with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes with some subtle black chocolate. Taste is a mix between some chocolate note with some dry coffee and lightly sweet notes at the end. Body is a bit thin with some average carbonation. Very well done overall apart from body too thin.

Dec 9, 2008 Bottle thanks to Joe. Pours a dark brown color with loads of red hints, a pretty thick light brown head. A nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, oats, and light hops. The flavor is very nice, sweet roasted malts, lots of milk chocolate, creamy and full of oatmeal and a slight alcohol warmth. Cocoa and light hops. Very enjoyable. A very nice example of one of my favorite styles. A creamy and full mouthfeel.

Dec 5, 2008 On tap at Churchills in Savannah, GA, on 10/25/08. Dark in appearance. Cocoa aroma. Taste was chocolate, oatmeal and roast malt. Quite sweet. No bitterness.
