timsilvia32 (91), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 11, 2008 You get the roasted tones immediately in the nose. Nice black/brown pour with a tan head. Some hop character not too much though. It is very well balanced with the flavors, which are pretty traditional for a porter. jrmac (112), USA Jul 10, 2008 Outstanding. Really great mocha, roast malt and coffee flavor. A great brewery. Can’t wait to see what comes from them in the future. sallad (66), USA Jun 28, 2008 Clear, dark bronze with deep ruby highlights. Rocky beige head. Dark chocolate in the nose, with hints of charred earth and wood, faint spice of hops. A little bitey up front, then bitter bakers chocolate mixed with orange peels. Kinda harsh, but finishes thick with black malt. mcbackus (562), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Jun 16, 2008 bottle: pours a dark cola brown with a quick tan head. aroma is full of oat adn some sweet milk chocolate, very slight roast. flavour is very sweet chcocolate with lots of oats, smooth milky mouth feel, slight bitter chocolate and roast, pretty easy drinking. KAggie97 (1854), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 13, 2008 Bottle from Suttree. Thanks, Phil!
Pours a beautiful onyx with a lingering head of creamed coffee. Aroma of chocolate and oats, with a touch of caramel. Flavor is a nice touch of chocolate, oat, and a slight finish of raisin. Leaves a coffee-like film on the tongue. Very enjoyable. I’d drink this again.
