Shared by Puddintane. Deep brown body with minimal head. The aroma is fantastic on this brew--smooth chocolate and lightly sweet malts. The mouthfeel is spot on. Taste follows the aroma. The flavor is maybe a bit too light for my liking overall, but is right on for a porter. Really impressive.

Bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk. Pours out a flat dark brown with a frothy, beige head. The aroma has a weak chocolate/roasty quality with a mild amount of dark malt, some dark fruit and a light dose of alcohol that does not distract. The flavor is very similar, but more rich. This porter has a nice character containing various amounts of caramelized malts, hints of chocolate, some dark fruitiness and a slightly dry, woody character. Overall this is a decent porter.

From the Bottle at RBESG Harlequin, Sheffield 19/07/2009 Some hop aroma. Dark coloured strong in alcohol and smoked with a little dryness in a crisp and bitter finish.

Bottle ( 275ml ). Shared by swoopjones with me, biegaman, blankboy and garthicus. Deep clear ruby with a decent frothy beige head - I’m a sucker for the ruby-coloured brews. Tastes quite like a roasty Traquair Jacobite - spicy, sweet caramel/toffee, freshly herbal. The taste follows, even sweeter than the aroma, with light woodsmoke and maple syrup additions ... quite mild alcohol presence for 9%. Thin, slick mouthfeel, weak carbonation, with a quick finish, a slightly burnt toffee linger and no unpleasant or bitter aftertaste - very nice beer, and seemed nothing like 9% at all.

Bottle [275ml] shared with garthicus, HogTownHarry & swoopjones -- c/o swoopjones . Pours a very deep ruby-brown with a small diminishing tan head. Aroma and flavour are lightly roasty along with vanilla, molasses, brown sugar and wood. Alcohol’s fairly well hidden. Medium bodied. Very good.
