Commercial Description:
This “shining example” of our spring seasonal has a complex malty body enhanced with traditional spicy noble hops. This Bock is a medium body lager with a smooth, crisp finish. A creamy head tops this fine Bock with the usual Highland twist on style.

12oz bottle from nearbeer. Thanks. The aroma was of hay, a dash of brown sugar, toffee, and subdued noble hops. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was short, white, and reduced quickly to a thin film. Some tattered lace was left behind. Medium bodied and delicately sweet. Spicy, earthy malts dominated the flavor; akin to a mix of fall leaves, toffee, and molasses. Some fleshy and dark fruit flavors emerged at the end. Not bad. Good spring beer.

Bottle from Sam’s. Given the name, I was surprised to see the copper/amber pour coming out of the bottle. Pleasantly surprised, I might add. Malty nose. A bit of floral hops. Sweet notes of caramel and toffee. Toasty. Similar on the palate. Quite drinkable. Another solid offering from this brewery.

Pours medium dark coppery, forming small whitish foamy head. Aroma of malts, hops. Flavour is of creamy, yet malty beer, laced with some coriander and other spices. Surprisingly, do have a small impression here, giving this a rather unique tasting beer. Smooth, yet complex. Would like to try the on tap version.

Poured light amber, white head. Has some "stick" to it. Has some Christmas ale spiciness to it, pretty malty, very good for a spring lager. In fact better than most I’ve had. It’s NOT a light beer, though it appears like one. HBC if definetely the best large craft brewery in NC.

A nice solid lager. Well balanced and tasty. Finishes well a hop dryness that is very nice.

Bottled: Pours a copper color with tan lacing. Smells of sweet malts and has a bitter hoppy taste. Good summer beer!
