Commercial Description:
A golden pale having a slightly malty body balanced by an assertive American hop flavor. This pale ale displays a delicate hop nose due to the process of dry hopping with whole leaf Cascade. A crisp and refreshing beer perfect for any occasion.

Aroma of light grapefruits and hops (flowers). Has a sexy murky yellow/orange color. A nice beige head formed and then disapated. Has a very citrus flavor, along with hops. Has a nice mellow bitter ending. Overall a fairly nice ale/beer. Brewed here in NC, Highland appears to make some nice beer products.

Pours hazy, pale orange. Aroma is mildly faint, some grapefruit, a little caramel, and some pineapple. Flavor is a bit sweet at first, followed by a quick citrus flavor, and finishing slightly bitter. The flavor flows just like an IPA should, but it feels limited and restrained overall.

Poured a copper amber color. Had a medium, off white head with no lace. The aroma was citrusy with some bread. Tasted of mild hop, well balanced, not very complex. The palate was mild. The finish was hoppy.

12 oz bottle via DecaturoStevo(thanks!). Pours a hazy amber orange with an average size white head. Notes of grapefruit, lemon, orange, grass, caramel aromas. Taste is very balanced, starts sweet and orange, then some grapefruit hoppiness, then a balanced bttersweet finish. The cascade hops are here as is a strong malt backbone. A tart finish, perhaps a bit overcarbonated. Very nice balanced pale Ale. Easy to drink and refreshing.

Had this at Taco Mac with some spicy chili, so my senses were slightly muted. However, the beer poured from the bottle to a hazy reddish orange reminiscent of a good IPA. Head was a good thick off-white, and although it quickly disappeared, its residual lacing lasted through the entire glass. Had a nice, pleasant aroma of citrus fruit and floral hops, and the taste followed suit. The alcohol never did make itself known, but was not really expected to in this beer. Finsih was slightly biotter and somewhat dry, but a nice, tasty thirst quenching beer all and all.

12oz bonus from NachlamSie, no date. Pours a .slightly hazy orange amber with a small fading light yellowish hea. Aroma isn’t terribly strong, though has plenty of grapefruit, dust, slightly stale hops and some biscuity malts and a tinge of honey. Flavor is much the same with citrusy hops in the forefront--though there isn’t really big fruitiness--with a biscuity finish. Lighter bodied, moderate carbonation. I dunno, I think I’m getting sick of Cascades or something, because the last few IPAs and APAs haven’t really done anything for me, and I think every one of them used Cascades.

From notes 8/19/03: Pours a glowing golden amber color with a medium white head. Spotty lacing. Aromas were nice. Citrusy hop, floral hop, and some malt peeking through. Nothing overpowering. The taste had a bready dough malt taste, followed by some bitter grapefruit hops, and finished with a brisk bite. It doesn’t pack a punch, but just enough flavor to make you notice. Relatively mild in the grand scheme of things. Very drinkable.

The nose is the best part of this beer. It’s full of citrus, orange, grapefruit, resin and celery. The pour yielded a small head and clear yellow/amber body. Its flavor was moderately bitter and could have stood a bit more sweetness. Moderate dryness in the finish which was dominated by bitterness. Medium body and comfortable mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Enjoyable.
