| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Cask at Taco Mac. Pours a very cloudy (murky? muddy?) orange-brown with a thin white head. The aroma is evident from a distance - before even bringing the glass to the nose - citrus cascade hops. It’s quite an inviting and pleasing smell. The flavor is bready, biscuity malts with a smooth and strong cascade hop flavor. There are touches of bitter orange and grapefruit in the finish when the bitterness catches up with the malts. The finish is somewhat dry with biscuity subtly sweet malts and a citrus/grapefruit hop bitterness. The bitterness is firm but even-handed and balanced. The mouthfeel is medium-full in body and almost flat - very, very low carbonation. But the malty flavors, pleasing, smooth hop qualities, and proper temperature make it a pleasing experience: you don’t miss the extra bubbles. A nice pale ale - I can’t recall if I liked the regular St. Terese’s Pale Ale as much as this cask-conditioned version. ericandersnavy (1133), crossroads, Texas, USA
