Commercial Description:
Our Scotch-style ale, named from Norse mythology, combines the heritage and tartan of our brew team. The roasted barley and chocolate malt lend a bold flavor to this delicious dark beer. Its increased hop level is a modest departure from a true Scotch-style ale. We hope you agree this is a beer worthy of the name Tasgall, "Cauldron of the Gods."

A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is very hoppy combined with strong notes of caramel: The flavor is very sweet, but at the same time extremely dry, with an end that contains light woody notes. A nice powerful Scotch Ale.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a clear, dark brown with a warm, orangey glow. Lightly creamy, beige head. Full, malty aroma. Rich and full body with loads of roasted malt. Accents of overripe fruit and plums. Dry finish with vague burned notes. Very lovely indeed. 170406

22 fl oz bottle, thanks to thewolf. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a tan head. Fruity hops and light liqourice note in the aroma. Flavour starts sweet and soon shows a solid caramel malt base before the hops kick in and give a light spiced liqourice fruity flavour. Medium malty sweet and light hoppy finish with a medium dryness.

Rather dark brown colour. Milk chocolatey malt aroma with caramel accents. Sweet flavour shows more caramel and chocolate in the malt profile. Balanced hoppiness.

(3/2/08, 22oz bottle, thanks wilkie) Medium beige head atop lightly hazed mahogany body, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, roast, peat, some chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, roast, some smoke, light earthy, cherry. Creamy medium-full body, quite smooth. (7/4/7/4/14)

(4/2/06, 22oz bottle, thanks wilkie) Crystal clear dark copper body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, some peat, cola. Taste is moderately sweet, cola, some peat, syrup. Smooth, light-medium body, some stickiness. I like it, but would prefer it to be a little less sweet. (7/3/6/4/13)
