vulcanmeister (68), La Grande, Oregon, USA May 31, 2008 Pours golden yellow with a quickly fading thin white head. Aroma is grassy with slight maltiness. Mouth feel is thin and watery. Citrus and alcohol in the aftertaste. So so but drinkable. A bit disappointing, I guess expecting more coming from the exotic south Pacific island of Tahiti!
heemer77 (3955), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jan 2, 2009 Bottle at Tommy’s Joynt in SF. The body was pale gold with a rocky head. The aroma was bread with some light pear. The taste was bitter alcohol with some potatoes. A grassy finish. pkbites (278), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 30, 2008 Pours a pale yellow. Nose of light lemon and other citrus fruits. Has a light bitterness and something else in it I can’t place. I found this in Honolulu and I liked it. 3.8 out of 5! rustychiles (582), Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 29, 2008 Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of corn, rice, malt. Flavor is much the same with a little floral note and a touch of bitterness. imdownthepub (4311), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Nov 27, 2008 Bottled, pasterised, 330ml from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Gold with white head. Certainly not the worst of Pale Lagers, obviously a thin malted light beer, cereal, ricey, but there are bittering hops in there to mask it a little. Fair. tarheels86 (266), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 27, 2008 Found this all over Hawai’i. Bottle. Pours clear and golden with a modest head. Lacing is not bad. Aroma is sweet and tropical with hints of pineapple but also grass, rice, and corn. Body is light. Mouthfeel is watery. Fairly typical foreign pale lager but is very smooth, drinkable, and gets +1 pt for the hot French Polynesian chick on the label. For some reason, the Hinano girl has a cult following in Hawai’i. Look for her on mud flaps, bumper stickers, and keychains.
