Moderate off-white head. Scents of an IPA with some pale to toasted malts and pine and mild citric hops. Interesting flavors to me. I wonder if the oak after time takes over the hops as I am getting more oak character than the hops that I perceived in the nose. Caramel and oak flavors preside throughout. Good, but I still think the hops are gradually losing the battle with the oak. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Very balanced but very nice hop profile. Oak, if any is subtle. It adds to, rather than is the main component. Nice bitter grassy hops. Vanilla. Medium mouthwatering mouthfeel. I do not usually like a BA IPA because it normally does not work. This one did. Pours a rich amber color with moderate off white head. Aroma is oak, light vanilla, light tobacco and floral resinous hops. Taste is oak, vanilla, some caramel and citrus hops. Carbonation is just right in this full bodied brew. Everything is well balanced and delicious. If you are in town you owe it to yourself to try it.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2008 On draught at the brewery/brewpub in downtown Green Bay, WI. Pours a semi-clear brownish copper/red brew with a quick dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin film top and no ring. Aroma of bourbon with caramel, tangerine, grapefruit and a touch of vanilla. Taste is full bodied, very little carbonation if any with very complex flavors of bourbon, grapefruit, a touch of tangerine, iced tea, vanilla and some toffee. Finish has a thick texture with a lingering bourbon and grapefruit aftertaste that is quite sweet. The bourbon comes out stonger in the finish. Petrucci914 (583), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is light bourbon, pineapple, vanilla, bitter and floral hops. Taste is about the same. It is very smooth and there is almost no crazy bitterness or anything, just the perfect tastes of a wonderful IPA.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2007 On tap at Hinterland – Milwaukee. Poured a brilliant garnety-red with a light ring and a swirly beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, lovely bourbon and vanilla-accented caramel and grapefruit sweetness.. remarkably soft and calculating, with the barrel seamlessly-integrated with the nice underlying beer. The flavor found sweet, strong (but not oppressive) bourbon sugars, drawn caramel, and grapefruit at the base with vanilla-accented grapefruit bitterness on the edges.. tangy bourbon sugars and some orange zest emerge for the finish.. tasty! Medium-bodied with low carbonation.. a bit of a grainy oak theme.. nicely toasted. Good stuff!
