After being surounded by the Island beers for many days I have become accustomed to the distinctive wheat and Frontenac barley flavour. This interpretation of a Brittish IPA brings back memories of home and what beer was before the invasion. The concept of new and old in my glass is a powerful combination. If I cannot get the wireless to work I will forever curse the day Willow Park brought these expensive gems into our small town. Cloudy dark golden amber with a lasting airy head. Soft citrus hop aroma. Flavour as above; Frontenac-type malt, Brittish hops and pepper notes. Very good. OliverG (85), montreal, Quebec, Canada
Rciesla (3845), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy honey body with an off white head. Aromatics are very spicy, ginger, incense, cedar woodiness, dry and lightly malty. Light bodied with a huge emphasis on the cedar, spicy ginger and light maltiness. Interesting brew. jstraw (776), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Aged in cedar sake casks. Hazy amber-gold with good, foamy white head / Faint nose of sour malt / Medium body, moderately sweet, with balance leaning towards malts and with dryness on the good finish / Flavors of sour malt, brown sugar, and cedar, with pineapple notes / Have to appreciate in on its own terms and not compare to American amber ales. Enjoyed the second half of the bomber more than the first as it warmed in the glass. Travlr (787), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Cloudy golden brown, thin tan head. Aroma of orange/citrus. Tastes of cinnamon and clove, dry and a bit hoppy, with lemon and pepper coming in late. Haven’t had anything like this since Tolly Cobbold’s IPA from Ipswich, which hasn’t been brewed in about 10 years. Worth seeking out. maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 2, 2008 red/brown color, with a good amount of chill haze. light tan head that disapates rather quickly due to the carbination coming thru. The smells of malts and wood (cedar in this case), spices and sweetness are rather nice. The flavors are rounder than expected from a Japanese beer. The sweetness, spice and carbination give it a pleasant playfulness with sushi. The finish is rather sweet and clean. I will buy this again if the price can come down a bit, $7 for a 12 oz. in a sushi bar (ouch).
