| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2008 The pour is a nice deep drown with a medium, slowly dissipating tan head. The nose while slightly funky and earthy, sings with wonderful espresso notes, chocolate malt and candy sugars. The palate is sweet refined and strongly coffee, but complex enough so that this stout is not just a cold carbonated espresso. A nice beer. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2008 Another wonderful beer from this brewery! I love the fact that they added espresso beans to the boil, making coffee and beer at the same time. This has the most amazing nose, it would almost beer hard to say this was a beer in a blind taste test, it has such a powerful espresso nose. Rich and roasty, and completely creamy on the palate. Does not have any acrid roasty flavors, it is all in balanced moderation. Chocolate and cocoa along with a bit of caramel. This is the best example of coffee beers I have ever tried. sabarndt (2), everett, Washington, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 10, 2008 reminds me of chocolate covered espresso beans. smooth drinkability, i could drink it all day.................if i had the cash flow LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2008 Bottle - Perhaps my sample was old, but I thought this beer was fairly thin with an overwhelming coffee bitterness that did not reveal any other flavors. A very one sided offering. scrizzz (1323), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2008 midnight black, small tan head. full aroma of freshly ground coffee. not entirely sure what to think here. one dimensional coffee flavor and texture. oily consistency, rich flavor, and tasty. it’s a good beer, but i don’t see what the fuss is about. i should drink it again later. isn’t that always the best way to know for sure? | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2008 11.2oz bottle. Pours syrupy and nearly black with a slowly receding medium-sized brown head. Aroma of fresh ground coffee, chocolate, caramel, and hops. Coats the mouth with a thick, rich, sweet coffee flavor, fading to a bitter espresso bean/hoppy finish. Milk chocolate aftertaste. Very smooth, easy to drink. A little expensive, but very enjoyable. tiffanya (45), Federal Way, Washington, USA

Smell reminds me of grandma’s kitchen, where the coffee percolator was always brewing! Absolutely incredible aroma of rich ground coffee. Creamy mouth-feel. Coffee and espresso flavor, with notes of dark chocolate. Warming finish. One of my all-time favorite coffee beers. jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
