| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Bottle. IPA? More like a, um, Cedar beer, if ever there was a style. Pours a lush amber with dark honey highlights; nice head and lacing. Aroma is a cedar tinderbox. Flavor is a stark sweet cedar with notes of cedar and cedar. Palate is full; spreads the cedar. Decent cedar beer. <!-- b --> Did I mention this beer tastes like cedar? HomesickAlien (20), Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Not a lot of hops for an IPA but has good hop flavor. Decent malt backbone too. It’s the cedar aroma/flavor that really sets this beer apart. You can smell it before you bring the glass to your mouth. Nice dry finish with the cedar making it’s appearance at the end. Very different, well balanced and delicious! billk (300), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA

Aroma of florals, herbs, pineapple, and sugar cane. Flavor of floral hops and herbs. The aroma and flavor is reminiscent of shaman gardens in the Amazonian region of South American. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2006 11.2 oz bottle bought for ~$4. I hadn’t previously agitated the bottle, but this one shot out of the bottle quite a bit. Once it settled down, there was a slightly cloudy (likely due to its quick exit) dark orange beer in a glass with a persistent light white head. The aroma is quite nice, with the hops and cedar combining to form a sort of sharp, earthy, almost lemon-like smell. The taste is fresh, hoppy, and ends nice and dry, with the cedar complementing this dry finish nicely. Refreshing. Might not satisfy the stauchest of hopheads, but I enjoyed this, and will likely buy more in the future.
