| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 3, 2009 11.2 oz bottle Pours completely hazy amber with noticeable yeast chunkies. Has a thick and foamy inch high tan head. Aroma is overwhelmingly sweet with lemon, malt and ginger maybe. Tastes sweet caramel on the tongue first with a creamy bitterness on the finish. Overall it is sweet for an IPA but has an excellent balance with the roasty finish. Awesome Japanese version of the IPA. MrBunn (1555), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a kind of scuzzy looking amber with a fizzy head and lots of bubbles stuck to the side of the glass. Aromas have a funky edge to them with a pretty good mix of citrus, wood and booze. Flavor mixes together cedar, caramel, citrus hops, pear, rust and a bit of funkiness. This was pretty good and interesting, but it is WAY overpriced for what you get in the bottle. badlizard (2385), Berkeley, California, USA

Beautiful bright and lively palate with really nice carbonation. Grapefruit caramel and wood taste. Very refreshing. Well done. astrofrk (219), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Bright orange pour with a slight haze, off white head and drippy lace. Citrus aroma. Very unique flavor: caramel, fruits (tropical), hops and cedar. Nice balance. I really enjoyed the cedar aspect here it really makes the beer stand out BMan1113VR (2942), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2009 Pours with a large, off-white head that fades over an orange body with decent lace. Aroma of mothballs, booze, banana esters, caramel, and light hops. Taste of caramel and ceder, light hops as well. Slightly fizzy. Weird beer. blipp (1730), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a fluffy off white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with oranges, apples and freshly cut wood. The flavor has fresh fruit, wood and very low bitterness. I’m not gonna lie I expected this to be a bland pale ale or blonde ale and was very surprised at the aromas that came out of the bottle when I first popped the cap. Very good. Very drinkable. A uniique take on an IPA. I’m glad to see this is rated relatively high. MrChopin (681), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Hazy golden amber, nice fluffy white head. Nose is beautiful with an amazing cedar character, some spice, fresh hop in grapefruit and mango, pale malt. Flavor is similarly brilliant in balance, but the hop notes really take it to the next level, a kiss of bitterness that is aligned perfectly to the moderate, smooth, and wonderfully vibrant palate. Echoing the words of Rastacouere: it is not a traditional IPA, but it is absolutely delicious.
