Flavor grows on you. Hints of roasted coffee, caramel , chocolate and sour milk. It definitely stands on its own. winegarner (220), san diego, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Poured a drak black with a grayish tan head that had good lacing. I have never been a fan of milk stouts and this one did little to convert me. One of my first impressions what that of sarsparilla. A dry gritty roast flavor, mostly chocolate, with a very identifiable lactose finish. Some hop bitterness tries to help salvage this beer. Not recommended. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of roasted malt, slight chocolate, and a little bit of sour milk. Flavor is quite roasty wtih some chocolate, and mild lactose notes. Somewhat watery on the palate with a lingering sweet aftertaste. Lots of cocoa on the finish. Just doesn’t hang with the great sweet stouts unfortunately.. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Bottle. Pitch pour with a dark brown head, rocky and lacing. Smells of sweet candy sugar and chocolate, rather like a malted milk shake or whoppers. Also some light roast and woodiness. Taste is light and simplistic, mostly malt. A little milk, very little chocolate, and a little more roast. Light sourness after a while, and the throat remembers it as it would a glass of milk (less phlegm, though). Watery light body, at least this is rather dry. Goes down nice and easy, pretty decent for a chug...
