Alot thinner than what I expected. Roast and coffee at the nose along with some malt. On the palate as stated it was light. Sweet and more coffee. I spent $8 on it and walked away a little underwhelmed.

i used a big flow of this "lacto sweet stout" to paint a dark and inverted demi-orb in a snifter. expressive and brooding it was, and with just a little whiskey-bronzed edge, it sat in the glass with a demeanor as dark as wet raisins. the pour sent up a fizzing mantle of thrush-brown foam, gorgeous, but like a leaky balloon it went limp way before the party was over. my nose lunged at the aroma from every angle trying to get a decisive "take-down" grip, but odors suggestive of damp auto upholstery kept fending me off. with a waxy paper cup smell confessing of dried cola residue, plus gauze and candy wrappers that might once have held chocolate cherry confections, i finally decided that the aroma was a liability to this beverage. the flavor was something else altogether: while a pervasive citrus sourness weaves among coffees and sweet nutty tones, carbonation has a straight-ahead driving tempo. there is a watery feel and medium body, and faces flash by that resemble flavors i might once have known as fudge brownie and metallic sour peach. like a strange twist on a flemish sour, it’s a brow-knitting stranger to my experience. i can’t say i really "got" it, but it made a very engaging session.

From bottle

Poured very dark. Opaque. Nice fluffy brown head. Good lacing on glass. Nice carbonation. Aroma however, smelled like astringent. Flavor of burnt coffee. I pick-up the lactose in the aftertaste. Light bodied.

Ouch...I didn’t know this was rated so low...and it was expensive. Transparent black and purple with very little head...what there is of it disappears quickly. Aroma is non-existent...I guess there is a bit of milk chocolate. Flavor doesn’t seem to be there either...not absolutely terrible as others have suggested...just not much there. A bit of chocolate and a lot of milky flavors (and I’m lactose intolerant!!!)...I guess on second thought it is kind of terrible. Mouthfeel is of water...nothing really there.

This beer offers a smoky metallic aroma. It pours into the glass a lot thinner than one expects a stout to. It is the color of black licorice and produces a good head that dissolves leaving a good amount of lacing in its wake. This thin beer is sour and has a taste resembling rotten crab apples. This stale bitter taste lingers on the tonsils too long after being swallowed.

Pours midnight brown w/ a medium, semi cream froth. Decent hang time w/ full canopy residual lacing. A mildly roasted aroma w/ some souring. Medium nectar w/ soft residual effers. A refined specimen. Possesing a silky texture and the flavor profile mild. Charcoal, coffee been, iodine, steak, w/ a bit of a sourness that turns to leather. A very mild hop profile. The finish is bittered w/ a lingering leather essence.
