The aroma has freaking mild bourbon/oak/pineapple notes. I am almost sure this isn’t oak/bourbon aged...but I smell what I smell. The body is a ruddy dark brown with a diminishing tan head. The fore is mild pineapple, chocolate, cocoa. This so tastes oake aged, but didn’t before. Mouthfeel is thin, but this time around I am loving this beer!

Whoa...very over carbonated. First pull put a hands breadth of head into my glass. Takes forever to pour cause the head just explodes anytime I add beer. Aroma is of sweet under-carbonated cola with a bit of roasted malt and wood smoke. Color is black, but fades toward dark brown at the bottom of the glass. Very light body...almost lager thin. Some roastiness in the flavor and mild sweetness...much less than I expected. More woodsmoke and roastiness int he finish. Unusual brew. natrat (66), Naka-shi, Japan
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Great head with dark brown colour. A bit loose perhaps. Colour is a bit light for a stout. Aroma is malty molasses-y, with a hint of a citrus nose. Taste is quite sweet, as expected from a lactose beer, and there is little bitterness. A bit of cedar/citrus flavour pokes through the thick malty flavour. I’d like this beer to be thicker and stouter!! BennyTicklez (621), USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Bottle. sweetish and light, light lactic milkyness, but not overpowring at all. Some milk chocolate and subtle roast. Soft, drinkable, and innofensive. But, yes, there isn’t much body or complexity. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2005 24.3 oz bottle, State Line Liquors, Elkton MD. Looks like you’d expect it, completely black, big head on this one, poured into pint glass and had to wait for some time before topping off. A bit on the sour/lactic side on the finish. Not bad overall, but not up there with Lancaster Milk Stout or Mackessons. Not buying more on this one.
