Sour predominated for most of it - even over the sweetness, although it does get a little sweet at the end. One dimensional. Odd. Points for experimenting. unclebleen (620), California, USA

Aroma is pleasant but undenialibly a slightly strange. Not necessarily bad strange, just strange. Smells bitter and sour, like milk that has gone slightly south. Flavor is roasted and not as sweet as expected. Taste some chocolate, especially on the swallow. Body is medium. I actually enjoyed this beer but would not drink it everyday. Worth a try. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 28, 2003 Dark cloudy brown. Sweet and slightly tart aroma with hints of light chocolate. The body is lightly tart with some roast and chocolate. Again, a beer from this brewery that tastes as if it's gone. Nice flavors behind the tartness though. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2003 Dark black color with a nice head and lacing. The aroma is mild and almost non-detectable. Flavor is dry and milky, light roasty stout flavors, not too bad. The finish is mild. This is a good stout, just an interesting mouthfeel. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 23, 2003 Pours dark brown with reddish edges, light head that left quickly, no lace. Coffee aroma, some chocolate, and a bitter sour aroma under it all. Hrm, this is a bit odd. Standard roast flavors, coffee and some chocolate, but that sourness is coming out a bit more. It's almost undetectable, but the sourness is not very delectable. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
