Hitachino Nest Lacto Sweet Stout

Pours a dark brown with light tan head. Not very complex. Flavors of chocolate and caramel malt, with sweetness and a bit sourness I assume from the lactose. Thin to medium mouth feel. Pretty standard sweet stout. Certainly not bad but, but it doesnt stand out in any way.

sampled this bad boy. This has no noticeable alcohol taste. In fact, in had no taste at all until that strange raisin aftertaste. Not like anything I’ve ever had.

I actually enjoyed this beer despite its weak body and lack of complexity. It’s very sweet in the nose, with a smoky accent to it, straddling the line between not bad and unpleasant. Very nice black, opaque coloring. The head (thick, frothy, nice caramel color) belies the rest of the beer: a watery mouthfeel and thin consistency. Matls are evident, but the sweetness-bitterness overpowers them.

Damn. This beer is light. Sweet malts with a bit of sourness which I attribute to the lactose. Mild nutiness. Light bodied. I would consider this beer to be like a "Stout Light". Good beer, nothing special.

Pours an espresso black with just a light tan head. Aroma is very sweet, sugared malts with nut undertones. Flavor is sweet at first but immediately the bitterness takes over. Chocolate and nuts are the main flavors with dried plums. Not something that I particularly enjoy. Very strange beer.

Pours black with a tan head that goes away pretty quickly. Aroma is more like a Belgian Strong than a stout. Flavor is certainly sweet... reminds me of some polish porters... nice, though not as good as other beers like it, or as good as other beers from this brewery.

11.2 oz bottle. minute khaki head, and an unfiltered muddy motor oil hue. slight nutty aroma, mixed with a slight cream, as well as dark baking chocolate. a bit muted nose is not helping my impression of the ale. flavor yields a deep, dark plum jammy flavor, mixed with a heaping dose of light cream. this is a sweeter stout, but i don’t believe there is enough structure to sustain the sugary flavors. just my opinion though. good beer, salty, wet rock finish followed by the lingering flavor of milk chocolate.

750ml from fourwinds,pensacola...sweet and chocolaty but a little thin..not very efficent but an easy drinker overall
