emacgee (1130), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 2, 2008 Large bottle. Pours a dark brown with minor ruby notes. The head is about a finger or two head, creamy and tan. The nose is creamy, roasty, chocolate, light lactose, meaty. The flavor is a bit of a stepdown. Thin, bitter, fruity, sour bite, metallic, roasty.
buzzoven (150), Japan Sep 20, 2008 Dark (but nowhere near dark enough) ruby brown body; very little head. Muted nose of cream and milk. This has a thin and oily mouthfeel and no bite. Aftertaste is a big dissapointment...stale and sour. Not too enjoyable. maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland Jul 19, 2008 looks & pours nicely into glass, then turns horribbly south. stale cardboard, old coffe bitterness on palate & finshes with funky wet cardboard notes puggy211 (334), cordova, Tennessee, USA Jul 14, 2008 Aroma was sweet, molasses with a hint of caramel. Poured a deep black, with a quickly diminishing head. Smooth feel, but this beer lacks in complexity. Seemed almost tasteless to me, a little sweet, but that was about it. The finish seemed sour to me. Didn’t like it very much. rocbyter (659), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jul 8, 2008 Raisin aroma with a slight woody scent at the end. Black color with a small brown head. Sweet beginning with a sour tangy finish. Palate is creamy in the beginning and light in the finish. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 6, 2008 The color was brown with a thin, tan, and fizzy head. The aroma was smokey, roasty, coffee, and sweet. The flavor was the same. The palate was thin. The finish was fain smoke and roast.
