Passablement sucrée en bouche, excellente base bien maltée faisant défiler une panoplie de saveurs de desserts sucrés, zeste de citron et d’orange, smarties, caramel, Clairement d’influence belge. Un délice! Bouteille, Bello Vino, Ann Arbor, août 2005. burgerlicious (308), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

The flavor is complex with a lot of fruity tastes and spiciness. The coriander stands out the most to give it a floral finish. mikeben (344), Naperville, Illinois, USA

Tasted like a heavy overrly hopped pale ale which is my least favorite kind of beer. DRAIN POUR apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA

Fruity, but almost too sweet in aroma. Same with the flavor. Too carbonated. Strong orange pekoe tea flavors with cinnamon. Definetly a winter beer. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Cloudy dark amber color with frothy, off-white head with flecks of brown, giving it a cappuccino kind of look - musty, tart aroma, with vinous notes, brown sugar, cinnimon, corriander, nutmeg, grapefruit - moderate sweetness, balanced with big time red wine notes - orange peels and other citrus play both sides of the sweet and tart - finishes with slight cocoa and bitterness - very complex, but very gentle - nice. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2005 2004 Bottle Purchased at Premier in Buffalo. Spicy aroma with hints of cloves and definitely some coriander in there as well. I also get some citrus woodsy notes as well. Kind of vinous. I can detet a little booze as well as a little roastiness as well in the aroma. A unique aroma. Moderately hazy garnet-copper color with a nice large frothy light yellowish head. Somewhat sour and astringent to start, turning quite spiced in the middle. Hmmm, this is interesting. This gives way to lots of peat and smoked-rauch-like malts to finish. Long long dry finish. Extremely unique, but unfortunately, the sour astringency contradicts the smoked maltiness in the finish. Just doesn’t jell for me. Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA
