Aroma of ginger and a touch of spice and sweet malts. Now I’m thinking gingerbread cookie. Finishes a little dry but overall not too bad. Decent spice beer, not sure I’d run out and buy a whole bunch, but might be fun to try with sushi (which I will run out and get). BeerEssential (96), Massachusetts, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 3, 2008 Had a bottle of this at Bukowski’s in Cambridge, MA. The bottle had a different label than the one in the picture. A deep and cloudy red. Almost no head. Very little aroma, slightly gingery. Taste was malty, bitter but with noticeable ginger. Not sure that ginger is the best additive to a beer. Interesting, drinkable enough, but no Red Rice Ale. k4df4l (154), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2008 Bottle poured a semi-dark copper with gold highlights and a faint off white foam. Faint aroma of candied ginger and cherries. Flavor is lightly spicy and earthy with a light to moderate ginger note mingling with sweet malt and some yeasty dough. presario (3010), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Bottle purchased in Hayden. Lite ginger aroma and garden scent. A light easily generated head on rust-amber. Earthy rooty flavour. Moderate ginger. OK. Becomes a little heavy handed the more you drink. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Yep... It’s a ginger beer. Aroma consisted of spicy ginger and a truly off putting wet sock funk. Doughy malt as well. Pours a muddy dark orange/copper with a lasting brownish withe head leaving spotty lacing. Flavor consisted of wet, doughy malt and a less than spicy ginger essence. Some grassy hops hiding behind the weak initial flavors. Medium body with delicate and soft carbonation. Finishes with a cardboard dryness. Meh... Maverick34 (729), New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottled. Poured copper w/serious head. light and sweet, very gingery I thought. nearbeer (1886), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 7, 2008 330 ml. Murky copper color with a four-finger, lasting head. Spicy citrus and earthy honey aroma is subdued by some slight ginger. Flavor is earthy citrus-resin, caramel, acidic fruit, peppery dried wood, toasted pecan. Thanks goodness the ginger is used mainly as an accent to the rest of the great flavors, only hogging the spotlight slightly in the finish and the aftertaste. Creamy smooth, medium body is tingly and dry on the gingery finish. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Lightly sweet aroma. Mildly sweet with prominent ginger. A well crafted beer. Interesting palate, soft and light. Gold color and low carbonation. The green bottle is unfortunate.
