Hitachino Nest Real Ginger Ale

From bottle. Aroma of ginger and hops. Clouded bronze in colour with a frothy head. Decent looking beer. Flavour of hops. ginger. Its tangy, little bit of lemon grass or some sort of spice. I love ginger in everything but this beer wasn’t as good as the last ginger style ale I have had.

Murky copper color with no head. Strong ginger aroma, with some soy sauce, salt and dry honey. It smells "Japanese", and by that, it reminds me of opening a package of sushi from a local grocery store and taking that first deep smell. Or walking into a sushi bar. The ginger turns a little sour in the taste. Caramel malt and slight candi sugar. Surprisingly very tasty.

Sampled at Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota, shared by BDR (formerly brewfiend). Pours a semi-hazed orange amber brew with a thin off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of spiced ginger, flowery hops, yeast funk, and a touch of vinegar. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of strong ginger presence, light bread malt, flowery and grass hops and a touch of alcohol warmth. Finish is a little syrupy more ginger character that overpowers most other flavors. A decent sushi beer if you like ginger.

murky brown with brownish head. A nice ginger bite on the nose. Strong ginger taste on the body, with the rough finish that I’d expect in a ginger product.

orangish appearance with mild white head. sweet nose. flavor is very unique with a malty sweetness that is immediately dominated by a strong sweet ginger taste. there is a mild hop presence at the end before a very dry finish. a very interesting beer that is definitely worth trying

Thebody of this beer is amber and cloudy topped off with very small head. Definitely has a malty Ginger aroma. Theflavor is sweet but filled with carbonation and syrupy sweetness on the end.

Blah. This beer was disappointing. I’ve liked every beer I’ve had from this brewer but this just missed the mark. Aroma was almost nothing. Could pick up some hops with a hint of ginger, but very faint. Pour was a nice deep amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was very thick and chewy. Tasted like sweet cough syrup without the alcohol and just a hint of ginger. A little spiciness in the aftertaste. Very little carbonation. The concept sounded good, but it didn’t carry out.

Pour is a cloudy amber with a lasting white head. Aroma is a decent amount of hops followed by the ginger. Flavor is more of the ginger but not to the point of being in your face. Finish is very thick and heavy, it may take awhile to get this down. A decent enough beer and something different.
