| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Cool cloudy orange colour. Very, very malty with some citrus aspects, alcohol and only a bit of ginger beer in there. Full mouthfeel, dryish finish. Would work with spicy food, on its own the unique flavour is harder to appreciate. Still, surprisingly good. Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Some qualities of chocolate or caramel prevail with a lightly powdered ginger flavor. Fish (439), Kure, Japan
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2007 On tap at the brewery (!) I’m still excited that I actually got to visit the brewery in person. A deep orange color similar to the Amber ale in appearance. This is actually not one of their best, but for the style, it is outstanding. Kouji Tani (who was my guide at the brewery and one of the chief brewers in charge of beer and wine) exprssed some frustration with the beer mostly, I think, because of all of the ginger root which he has to meticulously slice (by hand!) in order to make this beer. Needless to say, I was impressed. SSSteve (2071), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
