It’s very sparkling with lots of particles. It has a thick multi-colored head, marbled from white to rusty brown. It’s dense, with outstanding retention and lacing. There is a lot of dirty ginger in the aroma with a touch of sweetness. It has a very fluffy medium body that’s very smooth with a sharp, slightly gritty finish. There’s not really any sweetness. It’s tangy. The ginger is pretty prominent, but not dominant. It’s tangy, leathery, Belgian-like, almost salty. It’s very unique! MmmcKay (280), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA

Lovely nose with just enough malt and hops integrated with the ginger. Tastes of ginger, slightly bitter, with clean bitter finish. The mid palette and middle flavor profile are disappointing on what is otherwise a solid beer. DerWeg (760), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Bottle labeled Real Ginger Brew, which is less dumb. Yep, it’s a cloudy spicy sour-smelling wheat beer that smells this time a little like ginger. Howe exciting. Taste follows on smell, with added mineral and tart fruit. Certainly different. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 1, 2009 This bottle was bought maybe six months ago. There was a ginger ginsing aroma whafting from the mushroom cloud head on a dark yellow body. But the taste was skunky, with astringent finish. medium mouthfeel, not too drinkable. Finish is a bit thin and metallic. Poured this beer at 55 deg and started drinking at 55 deg F, using and infrared thermometer. Beer pours a amber/ caramel with a off white head, good lacing. Nose has strong ginger and lemon with a honey balance. I do get some funk but not sure if its because the bottle had be pulled out of the fridge a couple of times since it did have some floaters. Mouth feel has strong carbonation bite that is aided by the ginger but fades after 5 seconds. Enjoyed this brew however their sake cake and espresso are still my favs from this brewery. swoopjones (1905), Buffalo, New York, USA

Taste is heavy ginger up front with nice caramel malt backbone. Palete cleansing almost. Went well with spicy eel rolls rampmaster (322), Alden, New York, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.2oz bottle into a smooth mug.
Appearance: It has a dark amber brown body with orange highlights. On top sits tall foamy off white head with very good retention and makes good lacing on the glass.
Smell: The aroma has heavy hit of ginger in sweet fruity and bready malt with some funky yeast and spices.
Taste/Mouth Feel: The flavor is true to its aroma. It has a solid medium body with a strong spicy ginger presence with a touch of allspice. This is layered over a sweet bready and fruity malt with a note of apple juice, citrus and a touch of funky yeast. The spice and mild alcohol presence warms the palate and the finish shows a light touch of hops. The texture is slick and lively with nice active carbonation.
Notes: Overall this beer is very interesting with many layers of complexity. This is not a beer you can drink a lot of but I did enjoy it and would highly recommend this beer to someone who is looking for something different maybe odd and defiantly special.
