Almost no aroma, pours a deep amber color, with a slightly fizzy head. The ginger comes through enough to taste nice and is very refreshing. I had it from a new labeled bottle in proper glassware at Suzuki Sushi in Rockland Maine. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Copper colored with a big malty aroma and hints of ginger. The ginger isn’t overwhelming but it is noticeable. Large sips get a little astringent. Is it possible to be unique AND boring? JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Copper color with a taller light caramel colored head. Aromas of caramel, pumpkin, pineapple, flan and only a very mild spice component. Very smooth and slightly oily on the palate. Light dark caramel mixes with with a mild ginger flavor that bites slightly when one gets to the finish. Actually fairly simple, but a well developed ginger brew. Too many are overpowering and don’t have the malt to back up all the ginger. This one has just a mild flavor and bit. Quite full and refreshing. cchubb (73), Minneola, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2006 One of my new favorites. Head pours thick and with a slightly reddish tint. No single taste or aroma is overwhelming, but the ginger shines through and wakes up the whole palate. A bunch of yeast was present in the bottle, leaving a haze in my second glass. Pour carefully. frankenkitty (1902), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Poured a deep and hazy copper/sepia that made my Hoegaarden glass resemble a root beer barrel candy while a creamy, ecru head lasted above. Ginger and hopcit aroma with a mildly sour wheat presence. Gingerbread flavor with licorice and orange rind over a full malt base. Creamy yet tingly mouthfeel, with a finish that can get a bit phlegmy (thick, sour and astringent). Intriguing and tasty now (mid-summer), but this would make an interesting yet appropriate choice for the winter holidays as well.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2006 Hazy, caramely-bronze coloration, dull yellow at the bottom...large head, puffy white, lace leaving, quite attractive.
Aroma: sweet, spicy, tangy ginger, and nothing but...but, I like that! It’s all over the nose, and it’s invigorating and inviting. Nicey, nice.
Let’s taste it...big presence in the malt, full flavor, big malt, and delicious ginger flavor. Dang it, I like it. Zingy, zesty, spicy...oh, so tasty.
Full bodied, with a long, delicious finish...ginger lingers on the palate.
Yum, I like. If you hate ginger, you won’t. But then, who can resist the smiling ginger root mascot on the label?

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Pours hazy and not clear looking to be a copper color. Frothy off white head and spotty lacing. Aroma is chock full of ginger. Some toasty malts. Caramel or toffee. Flavor is again ginger-licious. More citrus in the flavor along with sweet malts. A little touch of heat and an ending of bitterness. The mouthfeel is tingly and refreshing. Nice. iowaherkeye (1856), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2006 24.3oz bottle, no date. Pours a clear reddish copper with a medium yellow white head. Aromas of fresh ginger, spearmint, toffee malts--very sweet. Flavor is again ginger and mint up front, some toffee malts, and some brown sugar towards the finish, and the finish is the tiniest amount of bitterness. Medium bodied, fairly creamy mouthfeel. This is a good beer (better than Left Hand’s Juju Ginger), though I don’t know if I could drink much more than this bottle in one sitting.
