| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 28, 2008 Pours a thin murky orange pinkish brown with a fine white sudsy froth...odd. Funky moldy fruit aroma, tart and acidic. First taste is of very bitter red berries, funky mold, tangy. Tannic finish. Some creamy rice flavor... like strawberries and cream... a first in a beer for me. I’m not sure how to rate this... Maverick34 (729), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2008 Bottle. Was mine mislabeled? Because mine didn’t pour red at all, more like a cloudy yellow. w/mild fizzy head. I can taste the rice and the sourness. posikyle (165), Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 Pours a deep red color with hardly any head. Aroma is a little on the fruity side. Flavor is very light (you can definitely tell rice was a main ingredient), with something else I couldn’t quite place. Probably wouldn’t buy again. Trev (895), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 Pours a hazy reddish gold with a thin white bubbly top. rice and very light fruity rose wine aroma
Flavour is clean and quite light.
Tight light carbonation, that clean rice flavour with a fruity sour tang. Finishes ultra clean with the faintest of tart wine flavour on the back of the tongue.
I use the word light a lot here, and I see someone before mentions delicate which works for me too. Very delicate flavour. Sip slowly and savor this one. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2008 I have a lot of love for this beer, even though it is my least favorite of the line up. I love how unique this is. Using a sake yeast to ferment the red rice, it is very clean and delicate, but very light and tame. There is just a hint of light red fruits in the nose and an appropriate level of carbonation, slighty bitter and sour in the finish. tiffanya (45), Federal Way, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2008 Poured into Hitachino Nest glass. Beautiful pink beer! Complex, interesting. Champagne-like carbonation. Initial flavor of sweet strawberry sake, with notes of citrus. Dry, lightly bitter finish. Worth trying...I’m definitely loving the Hitachino Nest beers -- each one is so unique. jbuzz (664), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 5, 2008 Tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. I could almost say it like this. It is almost like a combination of a lighter beer mixed with a Sake. Slightly sour and well carbonated esjaygee (1581), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 4, 2008 Orange beer with aroma of rice, nuts and some sweet malts. Flavor is sweet and malty with a touch of rice and fruit. Finishes a little dry, not too bad.
