Aroma of sweet Kalamata olives. Awesome aroma. Sweet flavors of roses with an olive acidic tartness lingering in the end. An odd beer! No malts detected. Hops?? don’t think so. I’m eating a Kalamata Olive. Ungstrup (15430), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Pours a cloudy pinkish with an off white head with pink tones. Nose is mild with a slight alcohol presence. Very slight touch of yeast as well. Flavor is fruity with an odd ricey edge. Pretty odd really. Very earthy and plant like palate on it. Very unusual. Feel is good with a nice bubble to it. Borders on syrupy, but isn’t quite there yet. Drinkable, sure. It’s definitely a unique brew. But yet again, not sure if this one is worth going back to for the coin. zebracakes (1217), Washington DC, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Beer is slightly cloudy medium pumpkin-orange brown. Head is initally small, off-white/palest rose, frothy. Diminishes quickly and almost totally.
The first impression on the nose is intriguing—savory-leaning malt and citrus. Malty with a moderate note of toasted brown rice/grain, light/moderate cracker; Hoppy with a moderate note of orange zest, light note of herbal resin; Yeasty with a light note of damp basement; Moderate miscellaneous notes of wet wood, slight evocation of sake-like mineral note.
The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter with a long, lightly/moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. Woodsy retros, some grain too.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Unique, neat, enjoyable.
