A very interesting and enjoyable beer, pours cloudy and red, very bubbly. Definately rice based, quite sweet, but not that sugary, syrupy sweetness some lower quality rice beers can be, quite light. Enjoyable and I would purchase again if at the right price.

I do believe this is nearly a higher score than it deserves. But this was such an outlandish brew. I loved it! So typical to Japanese culture. I would gladly buy a case of this brew!

Pours a cloudy reddish amber color with a medium white head. The aroma is so bad that I don’t even want to know what is that smell. The flavor is quite unpleasant, I could taste some yeast and some sweetness, maybe rice too but it’s generally bad, which suprises me since Hitachinos beers are usually pretty good.

330ml brown bottle from Joka’s in Waterville. Murky red-amber body with a quarter inch of off-white head. Smells like cooked rice. Tastes sweet and grainy, similar to wild rice. Flavor has hints of almost a roasty quality to it. Not detecting any alcohol, which surprises me. Rather full-bodied. I’m surprised how much I like this one. Not something I’d have everyday, but I’m very glad to have tried this one. May get again sometime - perhaps to pair with some sushi.

this was interesting. at first it looks like killians, but with alot more evervescence and a little bit less of a head. Smell was unique and it was different than what i’m used to. Overall, however, I would drink again. Its definately a good brew from a purity standpoint.

I was quite impressed with this. I It has a red amber tone with a medium head. It’s just different and worth the try.

Subtle, complex flavors. Slightly sour and yet rich. I often drink this at the sushi bar when I’m not in the mood for sake. Pairs quite well with the fish.
