Do get a ricey character, but i have to say, it didn’t do anything for me. Slightly acidic finish, with some citrus. sleepingbear (27), Lake Leelanau - Detroit, Michigan, USA

Complex flavors-apples, caramel, sweet, syrup, with a trifecta of dry, sour and tart flavors. Interseting japanese brewery with interesting flavors. redlight (1485), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2005 This beer had something very different about it, I didn’t know what it was at the time of tasting. But i learned they actually use Red Rice. Very soft, sweet, very unique. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2005 I gave this a shot, and it was nothing great. There was a unige aroma to go with the dark amber color. But the mouth feel was weak, and, glad I had someone to share this with. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2005 The aroma is very unusual. It smells a little like an American macro, but also musty and a little sweet. tea colored with a fast fading head. This tastes a little like tapioca and rice pudding mixed together. The taste is not like anything I have ever had. very unusual, but the flavor palette doesn’t move much. You get that pudding sweetness and a touch of bite at the end and that is all. Definitely worth the try, but not something I’d seek out again. Indra (2030), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2005 11.2 oz. bottle. Highly unique aroma, nutty, toasty and faintly sweet and fruity with hints of berry, band-aid phenols and something like a pond in summer, replete with algae... Dark orange in color, hazy and lightly sedimented with a lasting, creamy, off-white head. Flavor profile is complex but seems rather strange, with aspects of toasty, bready malts, wheat-like acidity, cellar must, menthol, citric zest (lime?), mint, and, late, a faint amount of peppery bitterness. Palate is effervescent and lively, body is medium. Not wholly pleasant initially, but I’ve sort of warmed to it a bit. Quite a lot going on here, no doubt. fuyajo (225), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 12, 2005 Pours to a large head; a reddish-brown color. A fruity aroma. Taste wise, it is very different from any beer I’ve tried.
Like the "Commercial Description" says, it is a very complex beer with stawberry flavors. However, those are mixed in with all kinds of other flavors; bitter, sour, and even sweet.
I don’t think I’d buy this again, but I’m glad I tried it. If you want something much different from the norm, try this. However, I don’t necessarily think it’s a "great" beer.
