Bottle. Hazy yellow-orange color with bubbly white head that dissipated quickly and left no lace. Aroma of clove, banana, and nutmeg. Citrus, light banana, and husky cereal grain flavors. Finishes with tangy citrus flavor.

Orange blossom, honey and banana nose. Fluffy white head with good release of gases. Very herbal and earthy on the palate with more orange blossom and honey notes. Nice clean interpretaion of the style.

Poured a hazy golden color with a decent but not excessive head. Perhaps not very typical of the style in this regard. Wheaty, fruity aroma (some banana, some citrus), but not the full array that one would expect from a prime example of the style. The flavors were closer to being on par, however: wheat, yeast, citrus, light hints of bubblegum and banana. Rich, smooth mouthfeel and a nice (unexpectedly) dry finish. Certainly the best Japanese hefeweizen I’ve had, but perhaps being of German origin is a prerequisite of being a top-level example of the style...

cloudy orange with small white head. aroma apple and orange very fruity. flavor sour apple and bitter orange light spice. light body. finish sour green apple fairl y dry. nice wheat. very interesting.

Bottle. Wheaty aroma with yeast, cloves, and banana. Hazy golden color with a fizzy white head. Moderately crisp, strong sour notes, with tartness, fruitiness, and light bitterness. Lemon and apple. Medium body isn’t quite oily, moderately dry and bready finish. Finish-aftertqaste reveals salty notes with moderate acidity. A flawless rendition and a nice take on the style; I wish more HWs experimented with this type of sourness.

Bottle. Poured a hazy yeast filled goldden with some settling particles. A nice rich aroma of banana and clove as advertised, with a hint of over ripe fruit. Very tart tasting upfront but finished strong with a semi-sweet lemony flavor. Smooth, crisp, and clean, this was a solid beer.

This beer’s head fades quickly to a cream-colored skin over a well-hazed (yet sadly thin) golden/orange body. Sweet banana shows lightly in the aroma under milky lagering yeasts, seawater and sugar wafers. Thin & fizzy, tart & metallic with mild acidity. Latent fruitiness and a touch of dry spicing does not do enough to distinguish this as a Weizen from just a sour lager.

lemony hops with corriander, cheese and cloves. spicy and salty with a sour astringent finish.
