Hitachino Nest Weizen

11.2 oz bottle. Hazy light orange/golden in color with a nice lasting one finger head- great appearance. Aroma has alot of wheat and spice, some mild citrus esters- don’t get much banana. Taste is wheaty and tangy, with some citrus esters and clove. Banana element is subdued- slight cardboard, I am thinking this one may have been sitting on the shelf awhile. Would like to try it fresh, still very solid though.

Light yellow with a white head. Lemon and citrus aromas. Fruity but rich enough. Decent body and seemed well balanced. Nicely drinkable.

Orangey yellow body, average dissipating head. Nice nose of clove, yeast, and some smokey sausage. Unusually malty too. Taste of orange and the peel too, really spicy with the clove. Full bodied and chewey. Great stuff. Fairly refreshing on the palate but not quite as much as a lighter variety. This was earthy and delicious. The nest seems to trun out some serious quality accross the board.

Transparent gold, small white head that’s gone quickly. Nose of slight malt and citrus, even smoke, but banana is the main element. Flavor has loads of lemon, banana, and peach. Also wheat, pepper, brett to balance. Moderate bodied with prickly carbonation and an incredibly long, wheaty finish. More interesting and exciting stuff from Hitachino, and always, incredibly drinkable.

Pours a hazy gold into a weizen. Bright white head recedes to skim surface. Sour lemon and wheat aromas. Crisp with sour lemon and dry wheat finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and pale yellow with a huge white head. Dry brett and yeasty aroma with a light spice note. Light bodied. Mild fruity and medium dry brett flavoured. Holds a subdued dryness clearly overdone by a mild fruity note. Mild fruity and delicate finish. Nice brett fruity off flavoured, clearly not as intended but nice.

Bottle at Nya Tröls, Malmö. Hazy yellow coloured with a medium sized white head. Acidic aroma of fruits and bret with notes of barnyard. Fruity flavour of brett and barnyard with notes of citrus. Light watery. Fruity finish. Don’t know whether the brett was intended, but definitely not a german hefeweizen.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a huge lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of citrus, wheat, peaches, yeast, and spices. The flavor is very sweet with notes of citrus, brettanomyces, and wheat, leading to a lightly tart wheaty finish.
