Some banana notes. Pours a hazy yellow, almost milky looking with a small white fizzy head. Tastes of banana and wheat, quite sweet. A fairly standard hefe, quite good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Fresh fruit, almost starting to go bad. Cloudy dark golden color with a small and quickly dissipating head. Very tangy malt flavor that mellows slightly in the finish. Mildly creamy and stick palate. Doesn’t taste too much like a hefeweizen but unique like the rest of the Hitachino Nest beers. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Bottle. Poured a light to medium orangish color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of wheat, caramel, with some bananas and cloves. The bananas and cloves come out a little stronger in the tastes with some citrus. Gregis (1134), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Pours a hazy yellow with a fairly fizzy white head that diminishes quickly to a thin layer of bubbles on the surface. Soft minty wheat with dull banana and clove notes (with time the nose progresses away from this somewhat traditional aroma towards solid lemony/citrus notes). Not quite as light or fresh smelling as a true German hefe. Light, thin and excessively carbonated, it finishes fairly dry. The carbonation in this beer squeegees your tongue of moisture and leaves a slight sourness in the aftertaste. Despite the nose, I find the flavor more citric and phenolic than banana or clove-like. Other than the initial aroma, this beer bears little resemblance to most German hefeweizens. It’s serviceable as spritzy thirst-quencher, but I really couldn’t get into it. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
