Crisp, fruity aroma. Cloudy white in color with a tiny bit of head.
Coriander, lemon, wheat, ginger, cloves.
Really interesting flavor.
I will definitely have this again!! Very refreshing. Cybercat (818), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2008 Aroma is crisp, malty, slightly fruity, very like a good pilsner. Appearance is nothing special - typical clear golden yellow, average white head that does not hang around. Flavor, however, is better than expected - typically malty but well-rounded with fruity hints and just a touch of hops and a whisper of sweetness. Texture is pleasantly tingly and has a good firm consistency. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2008 Nice cloudy white building to a pale orange with a finger of sticky white head. Coriander and lemon dominate the aroma with a wheaty background and some cedar cask notes. Body is nice. Not reminiscent of classic wits. Tastes of coriander, lots of lemon citric tartness. Does that cedar notes in all Hitachino beers come from a house yeast or did they use cedar casks again with this beer? markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2008 On tap at OTH. Pours a hazy straw gold with a nose of ginger, orange peel, spice, clove, and sugar. Flavor is amazing citrus, lemony, lime, ginger, orange, grapefruit, and spice. Awesome with depth for a witbier. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Pours a dull yellow/orange color with a quickly dissipating white head. Pungent sour flavor is a little bigger than most witbiers i have experienced. Spice, citrus, and some sweet caramel aroma. Spice certainly comes through in the flavor with a bit of lemon citrus. Finish is metallic hops. Pleasantly surprised by this one. GardenGabe (129), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Light aroma orange a lemon. Pours a light straw cloudy (hence the name). The head looked promising but I blinked and it was gone. Tasking it brings out the vanilla, orange and wheat. Slightly sour with a firm tingly mouth feel. The hops finish nicely and I think this is a great drinkable wit. Suttree (2742), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Dark gold, cloudy, and almost no head. Some orange in the aroma, and a cedar nte, as well. Flavor is some orange, as well, plus cedar, woody flavors. Surprisingly dry at the finish. I ended up liking this one better than I anticipated. tarheels86 (799), Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2008 Pours a cloudy, glowing neon orange with a rather large white head. Aromas of coriander, cloves, yeast, and citrus. Taste is not too watery, lots of spice, and an addition of ginger? shines through. Spicy aftertaste. A solid witbier but not out of this world.
