Pours a cloudy bright yellow color body. Foamy white head, big bubbles, lasting. Spicy floral aroma, maybe coriander. Very spicy nose. Spicy floral taste, some lemon. Surprisingly light tasting. Medium bodied, not too watery. Spices in the aftertrste. Fizzy palate. Not too fruity except the lemoniness. Almost tart, but not quite. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2008 Draught at Wachi in Kyoto. Glowing golden orange color with a tall, fine head. Very cloudy. Very fruity, spicy aroma, with lots of wheat malt. Tangy/sour with lots of citrus. Big palate--thick and rich with a great balance between sweet and sour/bitter. Buttery, thich, rich flavor. good hops as well. The fruit and spices are not at all overwhelming, which I appreciate. This is really different from the bottle and seems better than I have had it on tap before as well. Great balance and richer, heavier than the bottle with really good hopping for the style. Excellent. I wonder if they changed something??? balzac (5), , New Jersey, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Purchased on vaca @ knightly spirits in fl. in pt. oz. btl. Also, thanks to TheCheeseman, I was able to have a taste of the Hitachino Nest Distilled White Ale. Pretty good liquor with some of the citrus and spice notes transferring through the distillation. If you can find it, get it! jonno (608), Brisbane, Australia

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2008 From bottle at Karma’s Sushi in Flagstaff. The pour was typical for the style, hazy pale straw-like color, nice initial head. The aroma was firm spices, coriander, ginger both with citrus elements underneath. The flavor was a full bodied wit with orangey notes, slight bread elements and somewhat overwhelming ginger complements alongside the traditional coriander. Being sensitive to ginger, that was the shortcoming in this otherwise well done brew.
