Hitachino Nest White Ale

750ml bottle. Cloudy orange color with small white head. Yeast at the bottom, so swirl it and pour and it’s very cloudy. Smells like citrus and yeast. Taste is citrus, spices, yeast. Nice easy drink.

Pours cloudy gold. Orange runs around your mouth and pulls some coriander along for the ride. I sat in a corner of a dark pub in NYC, sipping these with my coworker. It was a very hot day, and an emotional one that we were glad to get behind us. Tipping back a few of these helped ease my mind a bit. The balance of flavors was very calming on a sticky day.

Aromas of lemon zest, coriander. Full wit flavor, fruity (peach + pear), very spicy (anise, coriander) and citrusy. Palate is crisp and clean. Finishs dry.

Bottle thanks to jjpm74. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small white head. The aroma is mostly spices, citrus and yeast. The flavor is full and fairly tart; a smooth and creamy palate, some orange and lemon peel, coriander and oranges stand out. A bit of sourness along with the spices. A nice brew.

33cl bottle from GM Liquors; Nose of yeast, light corriander, and floral hops; murky yellow-orange with a small yellowish head; flavor of light hop bitterness, corriander, nutmeg, and wheat. Decent but not great!

A pretty cool import. Pours a hazy yellow with a bubblely head that fades in a couple of seconds. The smell was the best part of this beer. I found it very floral almost like tulips but probably just some interesting hops. Taste was light but did pick up both that nutmeg and coriander, did not notice any of the orange mentioned in the commercial description. With the second pour from the bottle the beer became very hazy and almost milky thick. That floral smell intesified tot he point where i could rebottle it as perfume.

Key bar, East Village. Pours a golden color, kind of hazy. Aroma is very pleasant of spices and citrus and some hop character. Taste was very spicy but well balanced with some sweetness. Palate was remarkably smooth. Very impressive combination of spices/sweetness- nothing too dominant.

750ml bottle. Poured cloudy golden orange with a medium sized white head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma of ginger and wheat. Tastes mostly of ginger and other spices, with wheat malt, lemon grass and citrus. I was really surprised that this Japanese Wit was this good. Nice.
