Cloudy yellow with a slight ring of foam and unmoving bubbles that just kind of hover. Lots of coriander taste, with some hints of citrus and vanilla. Very well done, extremely smooth palate. Surprising from this brewery, as I’ve been disappointed by other efforts. Really great wit. jredmond (1049), New Jersey, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2007 From a stubby 11.2 bottle, what appears to be a coded freshness date on the back label, sampled in a pint glass.
Poured an cloudy pale orangey yellow with a tight foamy white head that dissipates into a thin bubbly, sudsy lacing.
Aromas of clove, coriander, nutmeg, mild spiciness, fragrant orange juice and peel, a light backing of sweet grainy malts. I think this has a very appealing, inviting smell.
Ample carbonation and a crisp, creamy light bodied mouthfeel, clove and sweet orange juice are first tastes I noticed, upon further sips, the coriander and nutmeg come out, some nuttiness from the yeast, ginger spicy, white peppery, grainy malts with light traces of white sugar, a nice dry finish.
An excellent Witbier, tasty and balanced, I especially like the use of orange juice in the taste, a unique offering from a quality Japanese brewery.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Slight sour, orangey/lemon citrus and some sort of spice for aroma. Hazy lemon gold color with a head that filmed immediately. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation - not much bite. Starts with citrus, followed by orange oil, and, they say coriander, I won’t argue. Could be. Very clean and refreshing. Orange oil for the finish, along with the spice. Definitely good drink. Beerlando (2344), Orlando, Florida, USA

Flavor follows suit, but there is also a distinct ginger sensation. Very unique. Like a ginger beer mixed with a Witbier. Incredibly refreshing and unlike anything I have tried. Very impressed. wingman333 (246), San Antonio, Texas, USA

This was delightful, well-carbonated, main flavors of orange (tasted a lot like Orangina) stood out. It went well with the Asian dish I had. I will be trying the other Hitachino products.
