Hitachino Nest White Ale

Lemon-yellow with a thin white head. Smells of apples and rosemary. Reminds me of roast chicken for some reason. Taste is kinda thin, I’m afraid I’ll have to mark it down for that. It’s lemony, like the lemon chicken (there’s that chicken again!) that you get at Chinese buffets. Palate is smooth and super fizzy, which is odd because the head was so small.

Poured a light, slightly cloudy gold with a thin white, fizzy head. Lots of debris floating around. The aroma is delicate and delicious...lemon-orange and spices. The taste is slightly coriander with orange and spices mixed in. Very light mouthfeel, and a nice, crisp finish. Delicious.

750 ml bottle-- Pours light golden in color, with plenty of fizz. The flavor is of citrus and spice. The aroma is full of orange zest. Very refreshing beer.

Way better than macro.Golden color,medium head. Flavors of coriander and rice. Slight acidic aftertaste. Overall good session beer.

Almost clear yellow body with a large white head. Aroma of wet hay and sweat. Smells as if they mixed-up the bottling of their Weizen and their White. Tasty is lemony as hell, floury malts (white flour), rather yeasty and yet again a strong sensation of hay. Like Weizen-Witbier crossover. Could be that I’m stereotyping asian products but I had an overall white rice impression. Slightly below average Witbier that doesn’t offer anything new or interesting. Disappointing. This Hitachino is a lower quality product. Compared to it their Classic Ale and New Year Celebration seem like Sonyno or Panasonico.

Hazy yellow with a medium sized white head and a small amount of sediment. Aroma is nice. Citrusy, lemon, creamy, and piny. Whoa. Lemony as hell. Like lemonade. Sour and thin. Definitely not uninteresting but it’s definitely not one of the better whites.

Bottle. Hazy yellow color with a minimal foamy head. Starchy dough-like aroma wih a trace of lemon. Off-sweet bready malt flavor with notes of light citrus, pear and lychee, though overall character was kind of pasty and starchy. Yeast notes of underripe banana. Light lemony zip on the finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. The pasty/starchy aspects of this beer combined with the inflated price basically ruined it for me.

Nothing fancy, nor special. A good brew with a decent head/flavour overall. Don’t go out of your way to try it, but don’t pass it up if you have the chance to try it!
