Pours dull hazy yellow with a small quickly disappearing head. The aroma is chalky, spicy and light sourness - the overall aroma is quite light. Medium / light body with a chalky feel and sharp unpleasant carbonation. Starts with a lemon-esque sourness along with chalky and grainly malt. The finish has spiciness that is accentuation by the carbonation - it doesn’t strike me as coriander even though it is listed as such. Dry chalky finish. Mediocre wit. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2006 Bottle: Color is like dirty lemonade- dark and cloudy yellow. No real head or lacing to speak of. Aroma is light and airy of citrus, spice, and a little sweet. Has a nice taste of sweetness with some sour, wheat, and citrus notes. I liked on the whole, but its a bit pricey. Maverick34 (716), New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Nice white head, gold color, and wonderful citrus aroma. The taste was simple, but very enjoyable, a citrus taste through and though. It was great with a thai chicken and grean bean with sweet chili paste meal. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Unripe bitter orange flavor. Bleh! Not good. gocsick (1), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Fantastic citrus light bubbles on the palette. Crisp and refreshing. Dry finish with a light spice aftertaste. Yeast taste very evident but not overpowering. Not a beer I could drink a lot of but what a great way to start a dinner. Unique to say the least. I am a big fan of all the Hitachino nest beers. DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Poured a hazy golden-yellow color with a moderate, rapidly dissipating head which left a light layer of micro-bubbles around the glass and on the surface. Interesting fruit punch-ish aroma (pineapple, apple, pear), with spices (coriander, nutmeg, lemongrass), over a background of yeast, wheat, and some light maltiness. Rich, very interesting and unique flavors of fresh fruits (apple, pear, pineapple). Really complex and different for this style of beer. Smooth, crisp, refreshing mouthfeel and a nice dry finish. Not too sweet, not syrupy...perfectly well-balanced for my tastes. I find many beers of this style to be "over-the-top" in terms of sweetness and/or spiciness but this one was just perfect for me.
