Hitachino Nest White Ale

Pours hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of orange and spice, tastes of citrus, maybe some ginger, nice sweetness, with some spicy bite, no bitterness to speak of. Nice and smooth on the tongue, almost like soda. (Some account that a bad thing in beer, and it often is, but in this case, it actually works.) Really rather pleasent to sip, and it’s got a cute label, too!

Pours cloudy orange, like watered down grapefruit juice. Not a very strong spice and yeast nose found in a good wit. The body and texture is good, but this one lacks a backbone of flavor. I pick up some white pepper and coriander in the finish. So far, this brewery has yet to impress me, especially at the prices they charge for bottles.

Golden, Cloudy with a bit of sediment floating inside (umm.. ooops says the guy who poured it) Not really any head. Can’t smell much, but my nose is a little stuffed. Lightyly hoppy taste in a way that sort of drifts away like that stoner friend you meet on the street. Very nice beer indeed.

cloudy yellow color, thin foamy white head. aroma is yeasty sweet wheat malt, a bit if coriander. flavor more of the same, tangy sweet wheat malt, a little orangey flavor.

Dark golden coloured. Looks to have sediment floating around but it does not. Wonderful complex aroma. Tart cabonated taste. Flavor is of cirtus mostely lemon maybe a bit to much. 3rd great beer in a row from this brewer.

Pours clear gold into a tumbler. Bright white micro head with good retention. Rice and sour orange notes. Thin and very dry with slight spicy wit flavor and abrupt finish. Not a whole lot going on...but not bad, either.

Hazy pale yellow color with a decent amount of particulates floating around. Its too bad that Hitachino is not more widely distributed, because I would like to try more of their beers! Anyway, this beer is light on the palate and well carbonated. Citrus zest and wheat dominate the palate, but there is also some lemon candy in there. Very faint spiciness rounds it out. Pleasantly surprised by this beer.

Murky gold with a lean, white head. Nose is "zippy" (don’t ask) with citrus and some spiciness. Lemony and peppery. I find I’m liking to add y’s to everything. For that, I beg forgiveness. Anyhow, the flavor reminds me of lemon drops, which rocks by the way. I love those damned things. Hint of spice underneath followed with doses of wheat. It finishes with lemons and sugar goodness.
