The head started forming the minute I popped the cap off the bottle, as I poured it into the glass it from a behemothic head that is bright white and frothy, as it slowly subsides the lace forms a lumpy sheet upon the glass. Nose is sweet with orange peels, cloves, coriander, a real mélange of flavors and aromas, start is sweet and the grain profile delightful, top is light in its feel to the palate. Finish is striking in its acidity, the hops pleasing and the aftertaste quite dry, a very drinkable beer and one I enjoyed immensely. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 21, 2004 Curious aroma with plenty of oranges and tropical fruits garnished with nutmeg and coriander with a light peppery note. Almost opaque, straw coloured body with plenty of suspended orange-brown yeast flakes and fizzy white head that reduces immediately to ring. Ginger-pineapple flavour with notes of lemon-citrus is very tart, puckering and dry. Ammonia-like finish. Fair carbonation prickles the tongue though body is somewhat watery. Bottle. A sweet, tangy, citrusy flavor, allspice, cardomom, bananas...wow. Very busy! Made me sad to see the last drop of this fall from the glass. I’m having a difficult time figuring out which of this breweries offerings I like the most! PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 25, 2004 Picked this up at Habersham Beverage Warehouse in Savannah, Ga. Pours a cloudy, light golden with suspended particles dancing about - quite a show when put up to the light of a computer screen in a dark room. Light, white head. Aroma reminds me of ginger and gummy worms - odd, but enjoyable. Flavor has a nice tartiness to it, very fresh with some light spicy undertones. The mixture of coriander, nutmeg and orange peel combine to taste like ginger in my opinion. Slightly dry on the aftertaste, but still one of the better Japanese beers I have had yet - will try the rest of this line when I see it on a shelf. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

Standard cloudy yellow appearance, looks like lemonade. Flavor of light spice and a huge grapefruit flavor with the sourness to go with it. Refreshing. Great sour aftertaste.
