Hitachino Nest White Ale is a slightly hazy pale straw-colored ale with a white head that quickly vanishes. The aroma is strong with orange peel and lemon peel. There is a spicy smell of coriander and ginger. It is light, bubbly and dry in the mouth. The finish seems acidic. It tastes very citrusy. This reminds me of lemonade and iced tea mixed. It has a lot of zing. It’s loud and clean. I really think I detect ginger. I’ll drink this in the summer. I’ll also make sure I have this on hand the next time I get sushi. It would be perfect.

Wow this beer rocks. Opaque hay/gold with a fizzy white head. Wonderful combination of fruit, hop, and ginger in the nose. The somewhat bitter and spicy hop flavor is balanced with fantastically sweet malt and tart fruit elements that lead to a dry, dusty finish. Highly carbonated mouth, a little too spritzy in fact. Very good stuff, Kiuchi again pushing the envelope.

Pours a cloudy light green/yellow with medium white head. Very crisp with a slight sour fruit flavor. Not bad, but not my favorite of this style

Pours a yellow/Green color, almost a diluted gatoraid-esche presentation. Nose was deeply influenced with nutmeg, then coriander...Carbonation is crisp. Very clean, spicy flavors with citrus-touched grains behind... Spices here are done refreshingly rather than cloyingly..but there’s a lagery crispness to it that makes it feel a little weak. Not a huge fan of the traditional belgian wit, but am a huge fan of Hitachino. This is a crisp, refreshing example of a wit, the spices accenting the beer rather than taking over...but these traditional spices have never impressed me in a beer...but I suppose you gotta use em if you’re brewing this style.

11.2 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy and bright lemon yellow color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing,. Aroma is tart, tangy and strongly citrus. Taste is citrus, yeast, clove, nutmeg, caramel, bubblegum. Full bodied and kinda funky. Very nice.

Bottle. Light malt note of straw, moderate flowers and lemon for the hops, light musty smell fo the yeast, with lavender and Earl Grey tea in the background. Head is small, fizzy, white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is murky pale yellow. Flavor starts moderately acidic and finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is light, water with a fizzy carbonation and finishes fairly astringent. Refreshing and unique aroma, but real bland in most aspects.

Pours a very nice pale cloudy yellow with a creamy white head. The nose is very pungent, very layered and complex. Very balanced in the aroma with all of the different notes existing in balance. I picked up black pepper, sweet orange, yeast, sour wheat, and a mild tartness. The flavor is very spicy, black pepper, a mild yeasty character, bitter orange peel. Less layered and balanced than the aroma. The palate has a nice spiciness balanced with a fairly prominent orange peel bitterness. Very nice example of the style.

Thanks bro! Pours a golden-orange color with lots of particulate and a medium creamy head that fades thin with a lot of bubbly lacing. Aroma is heavy on orange zest, coriander, and almost some juniper type aroma. Mouthfeel is very creamy, almost to the extent of feeling thin and watery - but it’s not. Taste is orange peel, lemon, some wheat and/or yeast, and a bit of coriander. Leaves a lingering taste in the mouth that almost seems like green olives. One of the most drinkable Witbiers in existence.
