| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 5, 2001 Hazy tan colour, really cool ceramic glass/mug (whatever you’d call it); heavy nose - damn! All kinds of aromas here: cardamom, citrus, noble hops. The palate brings all of these plus complex earthy malt notes - this is very stylish. Both assertive and mellow at the same time - flavourful but soft enough with the malts to carry this for miles. soulgrowl (52), Kitakyushu-shi, Japan
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 7, 2008 Aroma: Smells very fresh. There’s a strong orange and lemon scent, plus a lot of ginger and coriander and piney hops. Wheat flour and yeast become increasingly prevalent as the beer warms.
Appearance: Translucent mustard yellow, deepened by the yeast. Volatile white head that dissipates in a jiffy and leaves no lacing.
Flavor: A smooth wheat taste, like fresh bread, with a current of lemon tea. Noble hops and tangy yeast round out the flavor. Gingery spices add a subtle but noticeable zing.
Palate: A tad sticky, but light and refreshing. Matches the taste very well.
Overall: An excellent wit for any season. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA

Acetic level blends nicely with the perfect level of carbonation and orangey roundness. Mouthfeel also lends a wonderful softness. Flavors of oranges, creamy yeast, and Greek spices? Tries to finish dry. One of the very few Japanese beers worth seeking in the country. Stunningly complex for a wit in both aroma and palate. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

I know this one isn’t highly rated but I consider it one of the best wits out there. It is assertive as it shoots off citrus, banana, coriander, orange peel and spices. Perhaps it is too flavorful? It is also pretty silky versus other wits I’ve sampled. The aroma is one of the best elements as everything I tasted seems accentuated times three. Some element seems to balance everything out. Its too bad the bottles only has 11 ounces each. horsefish (1), central, South Carolina, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 14, 2006 pricey, but very nice. Has spicy attributes I dislike in other beers, yet work well in the context of this beer.
