tan head. Sweet, malty aroma with some caramel notes and a floral touch
from the hops. Smooth palate, but just a
bit syrupy with a tinge of astringency.
Rich malty taste with some caramel and
a bit of smokiness. Also a touch of citrus. Damn good. This brewery’s
products can be hard to find on the east
coast, but worth seeking out. BOLTZ7555 (1098), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

This beer was impressive. Burnt orange with hints of crimson, this beer had a nice 2-inch off-white head. Aroma is oak, vanilla, brown sugar and darker fruit. Full-flavored, malt-driven, hidden alcohol. NICE!!! MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Tap Capital Ale House Innsbrook 08/27/2008. Light fruits and spice in nose. Cloudy amber orange with moderate fine off-white head. Spicey coriander and orange over carmelized malts. Spice is quite floral and sake notes are quite evident. Light body with medium mouthfeel. Finish is slightly sweet with lots of floral almost citrus spice.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of a sweet barley malt base with some distinctive notes of light sake. Taste is also dominated by a barley wine type taste of sweet malt with some distinctive notes of rice and sake, which I must admit are quite pleasant. Full body with some great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Another winner beer from a great brewery. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Pours a orange hue with a nice light head. Aromas of a gueuze, apricots, light hops. Mouth feel is medium bodied with a light creaminess. Definitely some brett/funk action but not overpowering. Maybe subdued due to the oak aging, which isn’t over powering either. Flavors are amazing. For a 7% brew, the flavors are strong, while the alcohol hides. Flavors of apricots, plums, a hint of sake, creamy lambic, and cider. WOW!!!! puggy211 (591), cordova, Tennessee, USA

Taste is oaky, tart some sourness. Some citus aspects here also. Not sure what the sake would have added but this is funky. Opened up even more as it warmed up.
