[bottle] Golden yellow in color, clear. Floral, sweet honey is immediately in the aroma, followed by some mild lager yeast character. Malty, sweet flavors blend well with the impressive honey character. I’ve never had a beer brewed with honey that seemed to showcase the particular variety used like this one does. Impressive. Finishes with some nice contrasting herbal bitterness.

A bottle from Julius Meinl in Vienna, 2006. Cloudy, dark golden color. Rather small head. Sweetish aroma of malt and honey. Very malty like a bock, but with decent hopping. Fruit flavor as well, prunes? Very nice balance. Finish of alcohol, honey, malt. Not overly sweet, which is a surprise. Very nice.

Tasted at the 5 course meal at the Bierkulinarium in Aigen-Schlagl, Austria. Initially smells of a lager. Floral honey aroma. Great lager/honey balance. No head retention. Slight particle haze. Very dry, spicy flavor. Honey taste apparent.

330ml long neck bottle brought back home from Meinl am Graben in Vienna. Organic beer with good clarity to a golden body and a moderate white head. Fresh grassy nose. Flavour has got a certain degree of honey supported by malt and minerals. Crispy mouthfeel (14.12.2007).

Bottle@Home, label said 6.2% ABV. Herbal and grassy hop aroma with a hint of honey. Pale yellow color, white head, few lace. Sweet, loads of honey in the flavor, herbal, bitter. Soft and alcoholic.
