Can - LCBO: Deep ruby brown body with a lasting eggshell head. Aroma: Nuts and some smoke & caramel. Flavour: Mmm, a bit of smoke, some definite bitterness with a small amount of malt, there is lasting malt finish however. Not a bad beer at all.

Aug 7, 2008 473 ml can fromt the LCBO. Dark, lots of enjoyable flavors. One of my favorite local beers. I will definetly buy this again.

Aug 5, 2008 Pours a nice ruby brown with a quickly bubbly head.
Aroma is dark roast, chocolate, nutty and some molasses. A little raisin and brandy type sweet alc tones as well.
Flavour was surprisingly pleasant. Nutty medium roast malt flavour, some weak coffee tones, light burnt bitterness.
Overall very drinkable, smooth yet enough flavour to justify buying.

Jul 2, 2008 Dark brown, clear, moderate head. Toasty, slightly burnt malt aroma. Flavours of darkly roasted malts, chocolate. Comes across as more of a schwarz style.

Aroma: Dark fruit. Roasted. Metallic.
Taste: Roasted, burnt. Dark fruit. Malty. Slightly metallic.

Jun 27, 2008 473 mL can from matt7215. Thanks! This is a brown ale? Huh. Wouldn’t have guessed when I tasted this during a Ratebeer site crash. Reddish brown pour with a medium frothy head. Grainy roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very strong coffee with some grainy notes. A little thin but very pleasant.
